Free Communities

Here, there are such a thing as free lunches.

Free Communities

Basic Features

Users can join free communities without any upfront cost or financial commitments.

These communities have access to essential features that are entirely up to the creator to offer.

Community Engagement

Members can participate in discussions, share resources, access limited courses, and collaborate on projects. Discussions are typically more basic than what a member would find in a paid community.

Free communities can help build engagement and foster a sense of belonging among members without requiring a financial commitment.

Free communities can also see faster surges in growth and can later be converted into paid communities or have in-app purchases.

Creators have the option to upsell services inside the communities to cover the monthly cost to maintain the network. See Subscriptions for more information.

Limitations

Free communities might have limited access to advanced features compared to paid ones (creator dependent).

There may be restrictions on the number of members or the volume of content that can be hosted.

Some courses included inside of free communities can be gatekept by the creator to enhance the quality membership and provide further value based on student progression.

Example: An open community for hobbyists sharing tips and resources on a common interest like working out or book clubs. These communities focus on engagement without the pressure of monetization.

Community Selection

A room for everyone.

By offering both free and paid community options, Skolarships allows users to build and participate in communities that meet their specific needs, whether for casual engagement or professional growth.

This dual approach caters to a wide range of users, fostering inclusive and vibrant online communities.

See Communities for a product visualization.

Paid Communities

No money, no honey.

Paid Communities

More Features

Creators typically save the exclusive, more informative content within in-depth courses, and specialized training for paying members.

Creators will open access to a wide range of resources including downloadable materials, advanced tutorials, and expert-led sessions.

Engagement Evolved

When spending money, people build a stronger emotional attachment to that object, service, or community. When opting in to paid-communities, members are incentivized to perform at a higher level of quality based on the information they're given.

With other like-minded members, they will have a standard to follow based on the existing community's interactions amongst each other. Other than free communities, there may be more rules to follow to ensure the quality of discussion is not tarnished by low-quality conversations.

Example: A professional coaching group or an exclusive mastermind group where members pay for access to expert advice, exclusive content, and valuable networking opportunities.
